ELOS technology provides hair removal for all skin types and colours. Compared to earlier laser and IPL technology, there is less blistering, scabbing, crusting and hyper/hypopigmentation, reduced inflammation and less pain.
Gentle light and electrical energies combine to damage the active hair follicle. This stops the follicle growing new hair and over a number of treatments causes long term reduction in hair in the treated areas. Some dormant follicles will activate new hair growth but will be disabled at a later treatment. Altogether most people require 6-8 treatments 2 months apart to achieve satisfactory hair reduction. Hair that is not completely removed is usually finer and paler and far less problematic. Individual results will vary of course depending on different genetic and medical factors.
The sensation during treatment is described as a "hot pinch" or "snapping" sensation. It only lasts a fraction of a second with a warm tingly feeling experienced for a short time afterwards. The majority of people find the treatment process easy and relatively painfree.
After treatment there is some temporary pinkness of the skin but most people would return to their daily activities or work immediately.
